Can I cancel my Gamestop pre-order by simply ignoring?

I just pre-ordered Resident Evil 6 yesterday at Gamestop. I found a website with a better deal and would like to cancel the pre-order. Can I just simply NOT pick the game up at Gamestop when it's released? Or do I have to actually go into Gamestop and tell the clerk I want to cance? (And have to listen to him/her whine about why I want to cancel)
