Life experience will eventually teach you that you can't control everything. As they say, stuff happens.
My personal experience has been that I was probably born with a certain level of control freakishness because I have a chemical imbalance in my brain which makes me feel very anxious. This was reinforced by a control-freak perfectionist mother, from whom I probably inherited it in the first place. Yes, it will drive you nuts.
You have two choices. Either something huge is going to happen to you over which you have no control whatsoever and you just have to roll with it, or you can (gasp!) intentionally make a mistake. I can hear you screaming across the distance. It doesn't have to be anything big. I'm not talking about going out and robbing a liquor store or anything like that. Figuratively speaking, color outside the lines. Leave one hair in the sink. Hang up your towel crooked. Walk away, telling yourself that's good enough. The world is not going to end as a result.
This of course is a slow step by step procedure, but if you ask a physician to clinically advise you where to go, it could be one of the most pleasant experiences you go through, explaining, and needing, as wall ans wanting some results. They have *classes, &/or procedures people/patients go through, as it's not uncommon, & *many persons have *obsessions, as of what is written in magazines actually /but *once gone, * they are *delightfully happy people again. many even write articles or go on TV talk shows to help others, a great way to get exposure too! *(after the fact of course) Are you TV shy?

This is a real problem for you and you need a real solution, not advice from random strangers. I strongly suggest you seek professional therapy or counseling as your best hope of learning to deal with the stress, control and other issues you may have underlying your actions and behaviors.by Piggiepants - 11 months ago
