Question
Do I have to be at home for UPS to deliver my item?
I recently ordered something from amazon today and the shipping will take 4-14 buisness days(Free Super Saver Shipping). Do I have to be at home for the delivery? Or what will UPS do with my item?
Also, if UPS leaves my item by the front door and if someone steals it what do I do?
Its a video game. What can they do?
Best Answer
If the shipper requests 'Signature Required', the driver will leave a note on the door. You then have to option to be home at the time they make the next delivery attempt, or call to arrange alternate delivery instructions. In SOME cases, you can sign the note to authorize the driver to leave the package at th door on the next delivery attempt. I either have packages delivered to the office, or arrange to pick them up at the UPS office, which I pass on the way home anyway.
If the shipper did not request Signature Required', the driver CAN leave the package at the door, or in what they consider a 'secure' location. In my experience, that translates into being 100% visible on the front step.

Unless it requires a signature, they will just leave it out of sight by the door.
by Cassi - 13 months agoIt's up to the driver... Leave a note saying its safe to leave but only if it really is! Don't kno what happens if it gets stolen tho :/
by Factorieguurl86 - 13 months agono , well it depends on type of package it is .. if its a big package then i think you would have to sign for it but if its an envelope then no you don't have to be at home
by wat u want i got if u a grl - 13 months agoI recently ordered an Ipad that required a signature. I wasnt home so they delivered it to my neighbor. He signed on it and once i got home he gave it to me.
Also if he dosnt give it to you or the neighbor claims he never got it, you can track it online and see that he signed off on it.
