Question
start a vendor/contracting company?
I am interested in the steps or giving me a place where I can find the steps..we all are or know someone who works for a company that is paid for doing work for a larger company. you are hired by the larger company and it's your responsibility to get whatever work done required. technical, communications, sales etc. I work for a very large company who pays a small company to get people to do that work for them and then the larger company pays the smaller company who then pays the temporary workers. How do you get a company like that started? on a small level. getting people to do the work is easy and I have 15 years of experience in communications and want to know where I would begin. the companies I know of that do this are very small and not necessarily the most organized. any info on how to begin?

I know of one company who basically did this - it was a credit union. They created an IT company to manage their websites, ATMs, etc. That way, they could focus on their business. And now that company handles six credit unions' IT. Although the credit union that started this company still provides all the benefits - health / life / dental / 401K, to name a few.
I am guessing the company hired the other company so they would not have to pay benefits.
If you know of one company that already does this - have you considered speaking with them? Or are you wanting to be the CEO / President - nothing wrong with that :)
If you have the people - that is always a great start. Besides money, finding hard working people is critical. After all, they can make or break your company.
You should check out Score, PartnerUp, Zintro, LinkedIn. Zintro has a number of experts on there that can help you out. You can choose if you just want to talk to someone (if so, do you want to pay for the first consultation), if you want to meet them, and even if you might want to offer them a full time job.
I also included a URL that has websites similar to PartnerUp and Score.
