Question

Internet Business Advice?

Details:

I'll make it short:

1. I own a blog (music).

2. 2 days ago, a guy contacted me. He wants to hire me to write for his website, which will be starting soon.

3. He's requested a Skype chat.

What do I do?

Before you answer that, there are a couple things you have to know:

The guys doesn't know I'm a minor - he probably thinks I'm a 'professional'/experienced writer. Truth is, I'm only 17 and I really, really do not know how this business stuff works...

I'm thinking of accepting the offer, but I really don't know how this thing will work.. Will there be any legal trouble if I'm hired (being a minor)? Is it recommended I even consider this?

There are 2 things I've already done regarding internet safety and all that:

1. I registered a fake name/pseudonym.
2. I've denied a video chat - Just normal chat.
3. I don't want to accept any money - If I do it, I'm doing it for free.

And advice you can give me? Would really be appreciated - I'm really afraid of any legal trouble that could happen...

NO. you're so wrong. anyone over 14 can work. that guy chose you after he saw your work. he liked it so it's quite unlikely that he'll want to discontinue. and talent is talent, age is just a number.

taking a fee is up to you. however, I would have asked for money if I was doing it. but then it's your choice. more importantly, this will be a valuable experience you can show to your credit. it'll only help you in your career.

so, chat with him over Skype, tell the truth and accept the offer. you can even ask him to put the credits for you on the website. and keep a link and his email address so that you can put it down in your resume later.

good luck.
