Question
I am starting my own car detailing business- how much should I charge?
I don't have a shop, so I will either drive to the person's home or workplace, or perhaps clean the car or truck at the home where I live. I love detailing cars, and I am the best at it. I want to be cheap and affordable for customers, but we need to make some money, too. So how much should I charge folks to detail their vehicles?

It varies by your location and what all your detailing services entail. I am helping a friend right now who has a mobile car washing / detailing business as he just obtained a car lot contract. Do a google search for "car detailing" "car wash" or other related terms and compare to local businesses. Then underbid them if you can. Also keep in mind that reputation and quality mean more sometimes, so even if you charge as much or even more than your competition, if your work is better you will get business by word of mouth.
Also try using Groupon to help kick start your business and become known in your area. If you do use Groupon try to negotiate with them the percentage that they ask. That's what my friend did. good luck.
