How do YouTube partners get paid?

If you are a partner on youtube why do you get paid? how do you get paid? and what method of payment do they use? like PayPal, checks etc.

I was invited by YouTube to become a partner because one of my videos, entitled How to Make a Bow, is very popular (more than 90,000 views when invited to become a partner).

Payment for views is completed through a Google AdSense account, as that is the preferred method of payment for YouTube partners.

AdSense pays by direct deposit through a bank checking account or by check if preferred. Of course, the checking account payment is quicker, which is why I chose that method.
