How should I advertise my blog for my podcast?
I run a political podcast and it is based on a WordPress blog. I have a banner on an online gaming news site which I used to run that gets roughly 1,000 hits a day, but it only directs a few towards my podcast.
I have already looked into podcast directories, and most are either full up with tens of thousands of podcasts, or they do not accept new podcasts. Many are also extremely outdated.
What are some methods of getting more people to come to my blog and listen to my podcast? I try to make it a quality podcast, but if no one ever really knows about it, then it has no way of spreading. It is on iTunes, but can be listened to on my site, if that helps at all. I also DO NOT have a sponsor, and this is for FUN, not profit!
Thank you in advance for the help.
There are different Podcasts sites on trafficgeyser.net depending the the package you/you'll have.
Some are Podcastexchange, Podcast.com and so forth. You can create an account on Trafficgeyser.com this is an automated submitter and offers Podcasting features.RSS channels are like radio or TV programs on the Internet. Each one of your videos or audios can be distributed as an "episode" of one of your "programs" or channels.
There are many podcast directories which function like radio or TV stations on the Internet. They offer all kinds of programs for people to subscribe to, both for free and for a fee.
Perhaps creating an RSS/Podcasts channel requires you to think differently about your promotional messages. Instead of "one off" messages, you may now think about creating a series of several messages with similar themes or topics.
When you include the podcast directories in your sites for an upload, Traffic Geyser submits your content (video, audio or PDF) to your channel and notifies the podcast directories that new content is available there. The directories record that information and update their listings.
Hope this helps..
