Question
How do I host my own website?
I don't want to pay GoDaddy for a website- I want the actual 'server' myself- like in my business, under my personal control. I don't even know it that's possible- or how that works...but it has to work...right?
I'm obviously not educated in this feild- so I've come here for guidence on where to go, what to do, what to look up, what I should know, and generall expense and time reports on what this kind of expedition will require. If you can help me please do- and be as informitive as possible. THANK YOU.
Kindness is always rewarded. ^_^

OS you use is less important than how you're connected to the internet. Some ISPs don't allow servers on the connections they provide. Others charge a bit more for the ability to do so. If you're using broadband (DSL or Cable), remember that while it might be fast eHosting a server is not a trivial task and not for the faint of heart. My recommendation for most folks is rather than hosting their own, spend a few dollars a month and go to a shared hosting company where you can get some space on a server that's maintained by someone else. In fact, your ISP probably already has some set aside for you.nough for you, it's shared between you and everyone who might be connecting to your server.

Hire some network engineers that will tell you how you run your own server and host your own website. It seems not really well that you are thinking for server for your personal website. However it will cost alot.
by Maneesh - 11 months agoHope you have a lot of money, technical expertise, air-condition premises with backup generators.
Much easier to organised a dedicated server with Hostgator.
