Ebay bidding question if i bid and i lose do i have to still buy it?
Ok if I bid on something and someone else bids after me so I lose but do I have to pay the bid I put up or not

your bid is only an offer on what you would pay. if someone outbids you, then you are no loner entitled to the item, and thus are not paying.
you are only bound to pay for the item once you have won an auction (highest bidder at auction closing) or if you "buy it now"

If someone outbids you, that means they won the auction and will pay for the item they are going to receive. You lost, so you do not owe anything nor need to do anything.
by mindcrime828 - 1 year agoYou only have to pay if you win. However, if you're the second highest bidder and the first bidder doesn't pay, you're now the winner of the auction and required to pay (not more than your highest bid amount).
When you put in a bid, you're making a commitment to buy the item for the amount you bid. You cannot change your mind AFTER you bid, so be sure you know what you're doing before you place a bid.
