Confusion on mailing a CD?

I want to mail my boyfriend a letter and a CD in a manila envelope. How many stamps should I put and do I have to pay to send it since there is a CD in it and I'm not sure if it counts as weight. Do I need to manually drop it off at the post office or can I put it in the mailbox? Thanks!

You should probably get a special CD mailing envelope. Call the post office (or check online) for the average cost of mailing a CD/DVD add extra postage for the letter, just in case and leave it for your carrier. Easier is probably to just go to the Post Office...is this a problem?
Anything you put in an envelope to be mailed counts as weight...because it is!
