Backstabbed in business / what would you do?

Hello,
My business partner never gave me my half in a business although we have a verbal and written agreement that if I invest a certain amount and get the numbers to a higher level every year, all which were accomplished, I get half of the business
When time came to finalize the partnership he backed away
Should I go and open my own business replicating the model of the business I used to run
Please advise

In your position it is hard to go either way because both means a lot of risk and potential to totally lose it all. If I were you I would go and replicate the model, except this time I would try and get ahead of your business partner by promoting it more.
