Do business brokers require an actual real estate brokers license if they are only selling busniess accounts?
Is there anything required besides a business license for a business 'broker'. I'm referring to one who sells non-real estate assets & accounts? I don't know why you'd need a standard brokers license in order to sell business accounts?
As long as it doesn't deal in real estate, am I required to get any other licenses?
Each state creates their own real estate laws regulating this- but every state I am aware of says that a real estate license deals in real estate. So if what you sell has nothing to do with real estate then you would not need a real estate license.
However if you are selling a gas station and that includes the land then yes you would need a real estate license.
