Question

Is there an online website that ISN'T a scam?

I've been doing some research, and I'm not after some get rich and earn $1539842 a day scheme.

I'm after something on the border line of reasonable, and legit, not to mention 110% LEGAL.!

Is there a such site, or am I asking for too much now? Because I'd really like to make some money on the side for completing surveys or anything similar! Thanks

One 'expert' in a TV investigation estimated that 54 of 55 work at home offers were deceptive or outright scams:

Those survey, rewards, pay per click things are really for bottom feeder, if you invest in your own web business generally including a site you are at least more in charge of your fate, but be aware that most people who try to make money on the web fail, probably the same people who would never consider getting into publishing and sales in the real world but somehow think it's easier on the internet.

I always suggest people have a look at the job lists on freelance marketplace sites like elance, odesk.com and the wild west of worker sites freelancer.com, you can earn about $2 - $5 for writing a 450 word article for a web site, while there is worldwide competition, a native English writer has a big advantage. Workers sign up for free, you end up working for various different 'employers' so the experience can vary. There are about 8 well known freelance sites like these commonly used by internet businesses needing short term help.

Odesk projects that the online worker market will reach 1 Billion Dollars in 2012.

There are also micro task sites that pay small change for a few minutes work, popular with 3rd world countries, some in the U.S. do them instead of crossword puzzles, the original was created by Amazon, the online store to 'automate' tasks a computer couldn't do, like pick the better of 2 pictures they named mturk.com after the 18th century Mechanical Turk chess playing machine that had a man hidden inside, shortTask and microworkers have similar micro tasks, some individual jobs are a bit shady, like signing up for product trials, doing surveys, but you get to choose which tasks to perform.

I was pretty skeptical when I signed up for points2shop.com over winter break, but I was pleasantly surprised. It definitely is not going to get you rich quick, nor does the site claim to do that. It seems like a site you would be interested in, because you earn points/cash through completing surveys, which can be redeemed for amazon products or gift cards.

I was very hesitant when I created my account, but I'm glad I took the chance. Before you can order expensive products or gifts, you have to order a small item to verify your address. I ordered a $1 bill to do this, and it was approved in a few days. Then, I earned $10 worth of points from surveys and tested out the rewards options by purchasing a $10 Newegg gift card code through email. Sure enough, after it was approved in a couple days I had a valid $10 code. Since then, I have earned ~$80 doing surveys and have a lot of Newegg gift cards to show for it haha. Oh, the $1 bill also showed up in the mail after a week or two, so physical products are also delivered.

I won't lie to you, some of the surveys are pretty annoying. If you do want to try this method, I suggest using the uSamp surveys. They seem the most entertaining and give good point rewards for the time. There is also a $1 survey which you can complete daily, which I almost always complete. Peanutlabs surveys are also good sometimes, but they are often closed.

You seem to be in the same boat as I was in, just trying to earn a few bucks while you're just sitting around at home. If you give this site a try, I hope you have the same luck as I did. If you do decide to join, I'd really appreciate it if you would sign up with this link at the bottom so I can earn referral credit.

Sorry for writing so much, but I really wanted you to know what this site was like!
