From idea to successful business?

Me and my brother are "partnering" on a bussiness plan for a tobacco modifying product. We are in the process of legitimizing the brand and design. As this being our first bussiness venture what are some things we can do to ensure a great start. suggestions? advice?

Videos of the product in action, testimonials, side-by-side comparisons to your competitors.
Be the first to market, be very open with information to the public.

Oh, and think beforehand about business structure, off-shore banking/incorporation, etc.
