How can people afford to sell sports cards on ebay for only .99?

I'm just wondering how can people afford to sell sports cards on ebay for only .99? I was searching ebay for football cards and I see top rated seller selling 2012 football cards for .99 plus .75 in shipping. That $1.74 total. Then you have to factor in the final selling fee and paypal fees and a stamp to send the card along with the delivery confirmation. How do they make there money?

If the card is selling for 99-cents, it's probably worth 5-cents. They probably purchased it in gigantic bulk with bunches of other cards and this card is meaningless.

Also, they mail it in a standard envelop and no delivery confirmation. You complain you didn't get it, the seller gives you your money back.

the seller ships 100 like this a week. 2 people complain. It made about $170 on this junk product.
