Does USPS use FEDEX?
I ordered an Mp3 player from Amazon.com, and the tracking info on Amazon said it would be shipped by USPS> However, today I received a missed delivery notice from FEDEX, and I am not expecting anything else. Is this strange?5 years ago - 3 answers
I had ordered certain clothing from a Salt Lake distributor and it was to be mailed via USPS. Yet today it came by FEDEX. Go figure.
Perhaps the two business entities join at times or the originator decides to ship the merchandise as they please for economical reasons.
I believe that USPS outsources some shipping to Fedex. They tried beating Fedex at their own game and couldn't... "If you can't beat them, join them". It's kind of like how GM and Ford will cooperate on car ideas sometimes. Wish I had a stronger answer for ya.by Gregory-F - 5 years ago
USPS leases space on FedEx planes for the transport of Express Mail nad Priority Mail, as well as UPS and Commercial Airlines.
USPS does NOT hand off delivery to any other company. If something is sent with USPS, it stays with USPS.
Ont he other hand, UPS, FedEx & DHL DO use USPS to deliver some of their packages.
In your case, your item was shipped by FedEx from the start.
